Kubernetes makes building software with microservices easier than ever, but like any sophisticated software, it creates some security challenges of its own: complex configuration provides more opportunity for errors, and easier deployments can make it easier to deploy vulnerabilities. This talk will show some common attacks in action, and then cover how to defend against these same attacks. Defense demonstrations will use security controls provided by the operating system, Kubernetes, and third party tools. This talk will provide deeper insights for people already familiar with Kubernetes, but it will also provide general cyber security guidance for anyone interested in the field.
